ABOUT THE PILOT
시험을 앞두고, 함께 연습합니다.
한국에서 다시 열리는 BJCP Tasting Exam을 앞두고 Scott, Zach, JungHwan을 비롯한 국내 BJCP 심사위원들이 자발적으로 힘을 모았습니다. 시험 접근법부터 스코어시트 작성, 평가 기준 비교, 모의 시험까지 총 4회에 걸쳐 연습하는 파일럿 스터디입니다.
각자의 점수와 표현을 꺼내놓고, 왜 그렇게 느꼈는지 이야기합니다. 시험 준비를 계기로 서울의 맥주 심사와 홈브루잉 커뮤니티가 다시 배우고 교류하는 자리를 만들고자 합니다.

ABOUT THE PILOT
Let’s practise together before the exam.
Ahead of Korea’s next BJCP Tasting Exam, Scott, Zach, JungHwan and fellow BJCP judges are volunteering their time to bring this pilot together. Across four sessions, we’ll work on exam approach, scoresheet writing, judging calibration and a mock tasting exam.
We’ll share our scores and descriptions, and discuss why we perceived each beer the way we did. Beyond exam preparation, this is a chance for Seoul’s beer judging and homebrewing community to reconnect, exchange ideas and learn together.

- Scoresheet Practice — Turn observations of aroma, flavour and mouthfeel into specific descriptions and useful feedback.
- Judging Calibration — Compare scores, sensory descriptions and style fit for the same beers to examine your judging criteria.
- Timed Practice — Practise assessing and recording your observations within a time limit.

Assess three beers, with 15 minutes for each. Afterwards, compare your scoresheets with benchmark scores and key descriptors, and discuss feedback.
